04 Jun 09 Frigidaire FAA065P7A (6,000 Btu) Air Conditioner

In terms of home cooling, most of us are looking for an efficient unit that will cool a room down, especially those that face the sun in the afternoon. If you are looking for a great unit that can cover around 200 square feet then the Frigidaire FAA065P7A is a great choice at just about $200 from most stores on the web. It has a digital display so you can keep track of the temperature, plus it has a remote so you can actually change your settings from across the room which is rather handy since if you’re already hot you most likely don’t want to have to get up and go re-adjust the settings until you hit the temperature you feel most comfortable in. The controls are extremely easy to to use, as well. Since it has built in low voltage protection, a brown out or other power issue is not going to hurt this machine – a big plus if you live in a crowded area such as California where power sometimes comes at a premium. Since it is Energy Star rated, you don’t have to worry about heavy power consumption and the ensuing high priced power bills. That means you’ll be able to run it without worries for a lot longer. That’s helpful when it’s hot and you don’t want to ration your cooling.

Aside from the fact that it can be a little bit noisy compared to some other units, I found this Frigidaire model to be an excellent choice for a smaller place and you can expect it to last quite a while, as well.
