06 Jan 12 How To Design Specialized Wedding Invitations

There are many details that go into planning and setting up the perfect wedding. If you are soon to be married and are currently in the aforementioned process, it’s perfectly normal to be a bit anxious. Even simple things like deciding on invitation designs can be intimidating, but with a little understanding and research, the entire thing can be made all the more easier. You want your invitations to be special and to reflect the theme of your upcoming wedding; these are the first impressions that the guest will experience. If you are stuck on ideas, then you may want to consider using a template; there are thousands of templates available that you can choose from, including Destination wedding invitations that are specific to the location of your venue. Having the theme of your wedding decided before you start looking for invitations to purchase will make the process much smoother in the long run. If you are feeling a bit more creative, you can even make your own custom invitation design. Don’t be afraid to personalize the design, even including personal pictures. If you’re unable to find a template that you like or create your own design, you can look into hiring a graphics designer to do it for you; be sure that you know the specifics of the design that you want however, as the designer will need them in order to create it.
Before you decide to purchase your invitations, be certain on the amount of guests that you will be inviting to the wedding. In your invitation it is important that you clearly mention the location of both the reception and the wedding, making it easier for your guests to make their travel plans. Hopefully these ideas will help you to achieve the wedding you’re looking for.

10 Dec 11 Decorating With Fun

If you have just redecorated your kids’ room or their playroom and are wondering how to add even more colour and brightness to it then have a look at wall stickers as they can be a great way in which to achieve this and really bring the room to life. Essentially they are just stickers that are used to decorate a wall however unlike your traditional sticker material they will not rip off the paint or discolour the wall itself when they are peeled off.

Indeed, it is this last point that is perhaps the most important and why they are so popular. Kids generally go through phases and it is a well-known fact that they tend to change these phases in a very short period of time; so if your boy is into space and planets etc… one month then you can easily get some wall stickers that depict spaceships or planets and stars and attach them to the wall with the minimal of effort. When his phases changes to, say cars for example, then they can be very easily removed without causing any damage to the paint or the wall itself and replaced with stickers in the shape and style of a formula one car or something similar.

In fact, a great activity to consider is to actually decorate the room with your child. If you are stuck for things to do during the long summer months when your children are off school and can be easily bored then decorating their bedroom is not totally out of the question and once you have done the painting you can leave it up to them or assist them in choosing some stickers that match their interests of the scheme of the room itself and then let them get on with applying them.

07 Dec 11 Candy is my One Weakness

When it comes to cravings and weaknesses related to food I really don’t have many.  Sure, I am a sucker for a good ice cream cone in the summer, and chocolate covered cherries during the Christmas season, but otherwise, there are not many foods that I really crave.  Okay, that might not be entirely true – I do have a sweet tooth.

I think my cravings for candy started out when I was a child.  You see, my grandfather used to always have some Brachs candies in his pocket and he would sneak us some whenever he had the chance.  I know that my mother and father didn’t like how much candy that we would consume over at our grandparents house, but the candy that he did give us was something that I looked forward to any time we visited his home.

I suppose my love of candy continued when I was in college.  You know, when you are sitting in a lecture theater listening to the professor rattle off whatever you were learning for the day, you really needed something to do to pass the time.  For me, I just brought a handful of hard candies to suck on, and it seemed to make life go by a lot quicker – at least it made the lectures more enjoyable.

I don’t know if I will ever be able to kick my love of candy, but I don’t see why I should.  I have been lucky that there have been no dental problems for myself because of the extreme amount of candy that I consume, and as long as my teeth don’t become a problem, I don’t see why I should stop eating candy.  Sure, it is my one weakness, but it could be worse, right?

20 Oct 11 Inexpensive Wedding Favours

The price of a wedding is not cheap. Organizing the venue, the clothes, the cake etc… They all add up and you are often left with a bill well into the thousands. This is why you shouldn’t feel that you have to splash out on wedding favours. Of course you should recognise all the hard work and effort that your guests have went through to make your wedding happen and you should also show some sort of gesture of appreciation for their attendance; however it shouldn’t have to add a substantial sum onto the final bill.

Inexpensive wedding favours are a great way in which to show your appreciation but also ensure that you cost is not too great. What about offering little sweets as favours? Jordan Almonds are often popular at weddings for the guests and they can be bought for a very reasonable price especially when buying wholesale if you have a lot of guests in attendance. If you would rather you offered your guests something more practical then maybe consider some small candles to give out. Not only are they a useful wedding favour to give out but again they can be relatively inexpensive when bought in bulk.

In fact, if you have any skills or talents then consider using them. For instance, maybe you make your own jam or marmalade. There isn’t much more that can be personal than giving your guests something that you have handmade. Or even if you are handy at crafts then something that you have made yourself in that department can be extremely useful and thoughtful.
Your guests are there to enjoy your big day and they will be grateful for any sort of favour that you provide for them so don’t feel as though you have to break the bank when it comes to giving out gifts for your wedding guests.
